Indoor Sports Linemarking (PE 594/50)

Direct from the Department of Education School Sports 406 and 584 packages, the Department allows for 7 courts to be painted for sports activities. The official list comprises:
  • 1 x main basketball court
  • 1 x volleyball court
  • 4 x badminton courts
  • 1 x five a side football – set of penalty and goal circlesIndoor Sports Linemarking
Some scenarios to watch out for if you are considering a new floor:

1. Paint/ Varnish compatibilty- a test should be carried out using proposed paints to ensure they do not have adverse reaction – a sample piece of the floor and varnish can be provided to the prospective lining company to allow adequate testing.

2. Will the lines require sealing? No. Traditionally, sports line marking has taken place long after the hall has been handed over to schools so the courts are painted and not ‘sealed’. Sealing the lines does not necessarily guarantee them for years of use. Where practical, the lines should be painted just after the floor is laid

Ordering Sports Line Marking.

We are often asked how how it costs to line mark ONE sports court for a school or sports club. The answer and reality is that, it’s much better value for the school or sports club to get a number of sports courts marked at the same time, within reason and according to the sports they play. The main reason being the cost of labour.
